This is an issue many of us struggle with. Unfortunately, I didn't really realize this was happening with my daughter until the last year or so. The onset was slow but now very obvious. With my 5 year old now in Kindergarten, I often hear "but kids at school have it". We have that exact situation in my house, with me being the one to say no- it's too expensive, and he being the one to whip out the wallet. We've had many conversations about this but the issue remains. He won't read the book but maybe he'll let me read it to him!
