The LifeAWARE movement Roundup

You may recall, back in March there was The Roth IRA Movement, a day when over a hundred personal financial bloggers joined to discuss this retirement account choice. This past week, the founder of the Roth IRA Movement brings another important financial decision to the front of the blogosphere. This week, Jeff Rose led The Life Insurance Movement – Over 145 Bloggers Doing Their Part for #LifeAWARE. This week, my family and I hit the beach for some R&R, but I’m back in time to review some of the best reading from this new movement.

Ginger at Girls Just Wanna Have Funds wrote Getting Married: What Happens to Life Insurance Policies. A look at what decisions you might face when you tie the knot.

At Budgets are Sexy, J Money tells us It’s Time For You To Get A Life… Insurance. The way J sees it, it’s MMLP, “Mo’ Money, Less Problems.” Not just that, but it’s the ‘grown up’ thing to do.

Fabulously Broke in the City wrote about Life Insurance by Age. An excellent overview of how to look at the changing needs for insurance depending on your age. One of the best articles I’ve seen on the topic.

Donna Freedman shared Why I have life insurance. A thoughtful and personal reflection on her own reasons for having insurance.

Miranda Marquit suggested you Be #LifeAWARE: Make Sure You Have Adequate Life Insurance, and she explains the process to help you get to the number.

Matthew at RothIRA.com looks at the big picture writing The Life Insurance Movement (for retirement investors), and I agree that one needs to look at all of their financial plan together, the pieces shouldn’t be separated.

And I’ll wrap up this roundup with Tom Drake’s Term Life Insurance: Lots of Coverage for a Small Cost. The title says it all, term is the lowest cost insurance and may bridge the gap to a time when you no longer need coverage.

Interesting to me was that I didn’t notice anyone pushing whole life, universal life, or anything other than term. It may be I just didn’t find an article about it, or maybe it’s a sign these products are best ignored.
